What a week!!! 18th Janaury 2012

The InterFirms/InterSevens celebrated the 10th season last night, and the raising of €250,000 for charity in a mere 24 months, by crowning ol’ boys Mulcahy McDonagh and Partners (MMP) Season M10 Champions, after a cracking final that went to Golden Goal and virtually down to 3 on 3. The final score there against Slatterys I was 3 -2. In the Division II final, Yoremas Ath beat Tribesmen 2-1 in another thriller that also went to Golden Goal. The 3rd 4th playoffs saw Deantus Media beat a weakened State Street 3-0 and Slatterys II just pipped Any Chance 2-1 to take 3rd spot there. MMP and Yoremas Ath will receive 10 tickets to the upcoming Rep Irl V Czech game.

Winners of M10 shield was CoOp(KLA) beating Glee 2-0 and W6 was Cunning Stunts who beat MHC 1-0 in a tight and well played final last night.

The night saw €2,000 going to Temple Street Hospital, €2,250 back to the club courtesy of Slatterys, €1,500 to SVP and €925 to Pieta House. €2,000 will also be going to local kids events, €1,000 to the injured player fund and a further €400 to the local area fund… the list goes on.

Season M11 and W7 starts again next week. Thanks to all involved.

Welcome

‘Be an ambassador and play soccer for your local charity’

Welcome to the InterFirms Soccer League, a league that is part of the InterSevens Charity Soccer Tournament movement, which was formed with three key objectives from its outset:

  • To raise funds for local charities, churches and clubs.
  • To bring together numerous professionals throughout the city to an affordable, fun social/sporting event.
  • To provide a competitive, yet respectful and fair attitude to all who we compete against.

We are a ‘Not For Profit’ organisation that aims to give 70% of all the league fees to charity through a unique prize system, whilst providing a professionally run event at competitive prices. The remaining 30% of league fees are utilised for team prizes, facility costs and general management and marketing.

The event has grown from strength to strength, doubling in size each year for the past three years, with our main goal of raising €1,000,000 for charity each and every year, within 5 years, the main driving force behind ourselves and the teams that play for us, thus forming Ireland’s largest social fund raising event.

The unique aspect of our events is that we are asking each player/team to be ambassadors for the InterSevens and their local charity, playing a 15 week, 7 aside league, for a prize of up to €5,000 for the winning team’s chosen charity, and a chance to play for the team prize which is one of many trips for ten people to a Premiership game, including transport and accommodation. How easy is that!

Along with our supporters and sponsors, the FAI, Déantús Projects Ltd, Déantús Media Ltd, Moy Materials and Slatterys of Grand Canal Street, we hope that you come to join us, but in the interim please find below the answers to some more of your questions.
