Congratulations to Slatterys II for seeing off Harding and Accenture to claim the title in League W2. Slatterys will be adding the €4,700 won last night to the €2,500 picked up 4 weeks ago, and putting it in the new Slatterys Loca Area Fund, which is heading quickly to the €10k mark. DPL/DNS took KLA out 2 to 1 in a very tight and entertaining match and Glee Rovers destroyed a weakened DTA team. The winner of the draw of the ten Vantage tickets to the Ireland V Andorra match was Slatterys I, who cleaned up on the night, litterally, as most of the team had to get back to work in Slatterys following the game...
Slatterys 2 v 0 MOP
Astroboys 2 v 0 BC United
DPL/DNS 2 v 1 KLA
Glee Rovers 5 v 1 DTA

End of Season Party – Monday League – InterFirms 4
Thanks to all that turned up for the Premiership final last night, and the presentation in Slatterys. The overall Premiership Trip Prize Winner went to Mulcahys, who beat Slatterys/MPP. An excellent game, with some stunning football. Mulcahys now enjoy a trip for ten to a Premiership match in August.

Dear all,
I would like to congratulate Mulcahys for winning Division A and Google Astroboys for winning League B of the InterSevens Monday league. They are both worthy winners, and will jointly present St Vincent De Paul with a cheque for €5,000 on Friday night at Slatterys. MPP, who were winners of the cup, will present a cheque for approx €2,000 to St Vincent De Paul also, and we also presented €1,000 to the local Ringsend children’s weekend soccer camps, which will bring the total charity fund for the Monday league in this past 20 weeks to €8,000.
The final playoff for the Premiership trip is between MPP and Mulcahys, after Mulcahys overturned a weakened Astroboys last night. This will take place this Friday at 6:00 In Irishtown, followed by the presentation and drinks at Slatterys. SVP will make a small presentation and the winners will all receive their medals and prizes. SVP will be presented with the cheques and we will then proceed with the festivities.
For those of you who need another night out, the final night of the Haiti Poker tournament will take place this Thursday. Cards in at approx 7:00/7:30. Please contact Alex to book a place.
Finally, please note that the next Monday league starts next Monday. You had enough of a break over January with 4 games postponed!, so no break this year!!! The fees are €850 for 15 games. Winners will receive approx €5,000 for a charity of their choice, and runners up €2,500. Both will go through to a playoff at the end of the year for a trip for ten to a Premiership match. No cup this time around. We have decided to keep the divisions as they were, as the moving of teams to different time slots effected too many team’s availabilities. One team has moved to Wednesday, and One new team in. I will have the team information up on site during this week.
Thanks again for all you effort and hard work, and please, please, please come up on Friday to show your support.

Wild Geese Take First Haiti Tournament
In an astonishing night of games, both the Finals and Semi Finals of the Haiti tournament ended in one-one draws, both ending up in penalties. An unfair ending to 4 excellent team's performances, but a damn good spectacle for the 50 people watching. Wild Geese just pipped Goodbody Bulls by one penalty to take the top prize and MOP taking Capita out in the same way. Giovanni Trapattoni also spent time visiting the venue, spending a little time watching all the games, and asking many questions about the people and teams that played. He was very commending of what the teams were all about, and in fact was very interested in our ability to manage so many games withtout referees. In his time at the pitch he met with the four Haiti tournament finalists, allowed photos and was extremely accommodating to all. The teams and spectators behaved well and in fact managed to get numerous smiles from Giovanni with their mild retorts. A short visit extended out, as he felt comfortable with the atmosphere in which he found himslef in.
Thank you to all for your participation in this event, allowing it to end in such a memorable fashion.

'InterSevens Soccer Marathon - Are you up to it?
Play in the most Lucrative Charity Soccer Tournament ever seen in Ireland.
Interfirms will be running a 16 team 7 aside soccer challenge in aid of the Haiti appeal at Irishtown on Sunday the 7th February 2010. This will be a ‘Soccer Marathon’ where each team will play over 3 and a half hours of soccer in a competitive tournament, from 11:00 to 18:00 on that day. With our partners Concern Worldwide, Paddy Power, Moy Materials, Deantus Media and numerous others, this day is guaranteed to be one of the most exciting soccer days of your life. It is expected that the winning team will win far in excess €40,000 to present to the appeal and a trip for 10 to a premiership match, with numerous other significant runners up and team prizes.
Interfirm is looking for 3 to 4 all star teams from the league to take up some of the spots, where you will be playing against Paddy Powers, Goodbodys, American Airlines, Davys and many more. This will be a great chance for you to work with your fellow teams and put together the perfect team!!! And why not bring in a few ringers to really make it tasty??? We can show other teams the quality that we have on Mondays.
The tournament will be run on a sponsorship basis. Each player is to raise €250 on a sponsorship card, therefore the cost for each squad of 10 is €2,500. Each player with a card will also be asked to try to get an 11th man sponsor, although this is not mandatory. The 11th man sponsor is your company, your boss, a mate with a small company or somebody that can afford to sponsor you €250 towards your team. Although we would like your whole team to get this, we are offering you a place for an 11th man on the day if you can get a minimum of 5 11th men sponsorships signed to. This gives you the edge on the day as it wears on and the teams get tired.
We will be releasing further information on this tournament over the coming days, but we are now registering teams for the event with only 9 places left, even before going to print!!!
